This claim is a racist generalization. Palestinians are a national people with diverse religions. But even if all Palestinians were Muslim, neither Islam nor the Palestinian struggle is directed at Judaism. Islam includes specific protections for people of other faiths, has a long history of coexistence with other religious communities, and places justice at its center. At the same time, the Palestinian struggle is against Zionist settler colonialism and is rooted in liberation, justice, and dignity.

This myth deliberately portrays the Palestinian struggle as a religious war against Jews rather than an anti-colonial struggle against occupation, apartheid, and genocide. Had any other group imposed the same system of oppression, Palestinians would resist it in the same way.

This myth deliberately conflates Judaism with Israel and Zionism, implying that resisting a colonial state is equivalent to hating Jews. Israel cannot have it both ways: it defines itself as a Jewish state, maintains an apartheid system that privileges Jews, and then claims those resisting that system are fighting Jews rather than resisting colonial domination.

For centuries, Jewish communities lived across Palestine and the broader region as integral parts of their societies, sharing common languages, cultures, and histories. It was Zionism that recast Jewish identity as a homogenized national identity, disrupted centuries of coexistence, and projected the hostility generated by colonization onto the colonized.

Every Zionist accusation is a confession. It is Israeli officials who have repeatedly invoked religious language to justify the settler-colonial project. During the ongoing genocide, Netanyahu invoked the biblical command concerning Amalek, a reference widely understood as framing the destruction of Palestinians as a divinely sanctioned act.

The claim that Islam mandates violence against Jews is a classic Islamophobic myth rooted in colonial and orientalist portrayals of Palestinians and, more broadly, Muslims and Arabs as inherently violent, irrational, and antisemitic. It weaponizes selective, decontextualized readings of Islamic texts to portray over a billion Muslims as inherently violent while erasing the imperial conditions shaping the region.
